This policy covers the SquidStudios website and our games and apps, including Yacht-Zee, Card Club, Golf Caddy, Word Blitz, Family Nest, Dice Harbor, and Tideways. The information a particular product handles depends on its features and the permissions you choose.
1. Information we handle
Information you provide. If you email us, we receive the address and message you send. Depending on the app and features you use, you may also enter a display name, account details, game or golf scores, preferences, or household information such as shared lists and calendar entries. Please avoid putting sensitive personal information in profiles, messages, or shared spaces.
Information from use. An app may process game progress, settings, account or platform identifiers, and technical information such as app version, device type, operating system, crash details, and feature usage. Some information may stay on your device; connected features such as syncing, leaderboards, or shared household tools may send relevant information to the app's service providers.
Permissions and location. Golf Caddy's optional course and GPS features may use your device location when you grant permission. Tideways saves in-progress matches in your browser on that device. You can manage app permissions in your device settings and browser storage through your browser controls.
2. How we use information
We use information as needed to provide the features you choose, keep progress or household data available across supported devices, respond to support requests, maintain and improve our services, protect accounts and fair play, and meet legal obligations. We use technical and usage information to understand reliability and performance. We do not use data from one app for a feature that app does not provide.
3. Ads and purchases
Some games include advertising and optional in-app purchases. Ad-supported apps and their ad providers may process device, usage, or advertising identifiers to deliver or measure ads. The details can differ by app and platform; review the privacy information shown on its App Store or Google Play listing and use the advertising controls available in your device settings.
Purchases and subscriptions are offered through the relevant app store. The store processes payment details and may share purchase status or transaction information with us so the app can provide the item or subscription and help with support. We do not receive your full payment card number from an app-store checkout.
4. When information is shared
We share information only as needed to run the feature or service involved:
- Service providers: Companies that host the website or app services, provide analytics, process ads, support sign-in or syncing, or deliver platform features. They process information for the services they provide.
- Other people using a feature: Scores or profile details may appear on a leaderboard if you use that feature. Information entered into a Family Nest household or other shared feature is available to the people with access to that space.
- Legal and safety reasons: We may disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect people, our services, or our legal rights.
- Business changes: Information may be part of a business transfer, subject to applicable privacy protections and law.
We do not sell personal information for money. Some ad-related disclosures may be treated as “sharing” or a “sale” under privacy laws. Where a law gives you a right to opt out, you can contact us using the details below; you can also use platform and device controls for advertising.
5. Storage, security, and retention
Information may be stored on your device or by providers that support the particular app or website feature. We keep it for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purposes described here, to maintain the service, or to meet legal obligations. Retention periods vary by product and feature. Removing an app or clearing browser data can remove information stored only on that device, but may not remove information held by an online service.
We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
6. Children and family features
Some SquidStudios products are family-friendly. Family Nest may let an adult organizer enter information about household members, including children. The adult who creates or manages a household is responsible for having authority to provide that information and for choosing what to share with household members.
We do not knowingly ask children under 13 to provide personal information directly. If you believe a child has provided information to us, or if you are a parent or guardian with a request about information entered for a child, email us. We will review the request and take steps required by applicable law. The FTC explains the U.S. rules for children's online information in its COPPA guidance.
7. Your choices and privacy rights
You can manage app permissions and advertising preferences in device settings, choose whether to use optional connected features, and edit or remove information through the app where those controls are available. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information, and to opt out of certain targeted advertising or disclosures. We may need to verify your request and will respond under the timelines set by applicable law.
8. Website analytics
Our website uses HeyCatch for website interaction analytics and Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights for traffic and performance measurement. These providers may receive information such as pages viewed, interactions, browser or device details, network information, and performance measurements.
